GE Water and Process Technologies is a $2B leading provider of membrane separations and purification technologies for water and process applications. This position will be located in GEWPT?s laboratories at the National University of Singapore, which houses an outstanding array of scientists, labs, and equipment.
Role Summary/Purpose
The position serves the global industrial water and process market with emphasis on developing product and raw material quality control methods. The candidate will support the global manufacturing and technology teams by providing technical analytical support and expertise associated with new product development.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop product and raw material quality control tests that provide enhanced chemical/physical information
Assist in new supplier qualification process with expertise in analytical instrumentation and QC testing protocols for qualifying raw material suppliers
Be proficient at the laboratory bench in titrimetric, spectroscopic, chromatographic, and physical property testing to test raw material samples. Occasionally test product samples to resolve quality customer complaints to find root causes.
Be able to interpret all spectra to make recommendations and conclusions versus control samples and calibration standards.
Develop concepts, ideas, and methods to improve activity and take initiative on new product development and product qualification projects .
Qualifications/Requirements
MS degree in Chemistry or a related subject, with minimum 3 years industrial experience in Quality System programs and Quality Engineering functions or in a Manufacturing Quality role performing Quality Engineering functions.
Hands-on experience in the use of automated instrumental analytical techniques such as UV/VIS, auto titration systems, IC, ICP, ICP/MS, GC, GC/MS, HPLC and LC/MS
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Fluency in English; multilingual skills desirable
Knowledge of ISO standards and quality procedures, Quality Control concepts and their application.
Desired Characteristics
Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and use project management skills to handle diverse activities simultaneously.
Six Sigma training.
Industrial expertise of environmental, petrochemical, food & beverage, and/or industrial wastewater analysis and characterization.
